So last Friday I got a nice new toy. The Nokia n800 is a linux based
internet communicator. So far I really like it.

That is sweet! I thought they ditched linux on it though? Is it very responsive? The 770 had a lot of problems with lacking ram and cpu power.

Nope it is still running linux(arm processor with debian package management). This version is a definite improvement over the 770. It has more built in RAM and a faster process which remove alot of the processing issues of the 770. It has two SD card slots the internal can be used as virtual memory.
It can play some video formats though I haven’t tested exactly which work and which don’t. Currently some flash sites just don’t work(ie youtube). Though that I guess that is just a software issue which will be fixed in the near future.
