Certainly, Sir - TAN!, originally uploaded by spi516.
Certainly, Sir played at TT’s last Saturday. I first heard about them through last week’s Boston Phoenix. The idea of a Boston area band with Japanese only releases [...]

Ben Folds rocks Orpheum

Sunday, November 6th, 2005

Ben Folds played at the Orpheum on Saturday along with the Fray and Christine Baze as part of the Yellow Umbrella Tour. The opening acts were very good and helped to raise the anticipation for Ben.
Ben totally rocked. It was the best show of his that I have ever seen. He played some of my [...]

Iris - Wrath

Saturday, September 10th, 2005

So I have had Wrath for one week now. I have listened to it at least a
dozen times. Probably way more then that.
“You’re the delivered one”
The cd is amazing. Definately the best I have gotten so far in 2005. A
nice evolution for Iris. The music is a nice progression from
Awakening. Some of my favorite tracks [...]

Late on a Sunday night

Monday, August 8th, 2005

A few minutes with me… Tonight after a day lazily spent hacking I now have a wordpress theme based on the OSWD theme done by Andreas Viklund. This theme is also on my main home page on panaverse.com That site is also served up by a nice cute PHP script which loads a page based [...]

Ben Folds rocks Boston

Saturday, August 6th, 2005

Tonight Ben Folds along with Ben Lee and Rufus Wainwright played at the Bank of America Pavilion.
Ben Lee played a short approximately 30 minute set. I had never heard Ben’s music before so it was a welcome introduction. I will need to go pick up one of his CDs soon.
Then onto the main act of [...]

DeSol, originally uploaded by spi516.

DeSol played a free concert at Copley square this past Thursday.
First time ever seeing them live and it was my first time hearing their music. They are an interesting band with a nice spanish/english mix. I picked up their CD which so far sounds really good.

Freezepop @ TT’s

Friday, July 29th, 2005

Freezepop played at TT’s tonight. Along with Freezepop came trs-80, fashion flesh, and livesexact. Very good fun and the pre-freezepop bands put on a good show.
First time ever seeing freezepop in a real music setting. Instead of a free show in the middle of a day. It makes quite a difference in the experience. Audience [...]

Wilco in Boston

Saturday, June 25th, 2005

Tonight Wilco played at Agganis Arena on the BU campus. It was my first time heading over to BU from my apartment in Arlington. I managed to get over there in only 50 minutes which wasn’t that bad at all.
Wilco totally rocks live. If you think their CDs are awesome you really have to see [...]

You’re speaking in metaphors / That I hardly understand

Saturday, January 22nd, 2005

A new release from ADD, Rename is a top class act. The vocals are a familiar style to any synthpop fan but different enough to sound new. The programming and lyrics are top notch. The songs run the gamut from the strong powerful sounds of “Maybe Later I Will Fall” and “Heaven Forever” to the [...]

And one’s pointing his tree branch at me.

I’m Wide Awake It’s Morning is the second Bright Eyes album that will be released on January 25th. This album is the more “regular” Bright Eyes album. It has an acoustic music, modern country, type feel to it. With gorgeous harmonies by Emmylou Harris it has quite a different feel from “Digital Ash from a [...]
