XKCD Dream Girl Meetup

Today was the XKCD Dream Girl meetup in Cambridge.
I went it was fun. All kinds of XKCD geeks in one space. w00t!
The park was transformed:

Raptors were not allowed

Spiders showed up

The jungle gym was popular

Tape measures were used

Randall showed up

The comic was completed

Overall very fun.

a new toy

So last Friday I got a nice new toy. The Nokia n800 is a linux based
internet communicator. So far I really like it.

Just about two and a half weeks ago Amin, Bryan, I went to NYC to bum around for the weekend.

Went to the top of the Rockafeller center building.

Made a late night Times Square McDonalds run.

Found a nice bike.

Met a cool dude in the subway.

Found a Canada flag

Walked around Central Park.

Hoboes are taking over

John Hodgman visited Brookline tonight and explained to the residents of the Boston area how Hoboes are close to taking over the world. Though most of them escaped to outer space after the great depression.

I am finally realizing the deficiency of the LCD on my camera to show me how the picture actually turned out. Guess that is a good reason to know even more about how to compose a picture.

One month later

Now that July is almost over I have finally used up almost all of my vacation for this year.
First I went to DC for an Iris show at Nation which was absolutely amazing.

My parents came into town for the end of the week. We walked around town and had supper at the Union Oyster House.

I made it

So I traveled 350 odd miles in 6 days. Going 90 miles on my longest day.

The bike I bought was a Trek 520. It is made for touring and made me very happy. Had a nice time riding it across Oregon.
