Boston has a very nice 4th of July celebration that occurs every year. On Saturday a group of us went to see the Boston Pops concert on the Esplanade. It wasn't that crowded and the concert was very good. It wasn't quite the same as the concert on the 4th because they shifted the order of the music so they could record a section to be broadcasted to the military and to show on TV in case of rain on the 4th.
On the 4th, Joel and I walked around Fanuil Hall and Quincy Marketplace and checked out the street musicians performing in the area. I picked up a CD by Ryanhood which was a nice find, an acoustic guitar duo. After that a few of us walked over to Cambridge to view the fireworks. We got a good seat near the barge and watched a really good firework show. The show didn't have anything that different from what I have seen on other years, but it was a good deal louder and there were more fireworks then I usually see.
On Monday, a bunch of us walked over to the Harborfest Chowder Fest and ate a bunch of clam chowder in the rain. The chowder was good, but the rain wasn't.
