Universal Poplab's debut CD of the same name was released in Sweden a while back. I recently got my hands on the import and the CD is very strong.
I have already listened to it at an amazing number of times as my audioscrobbler list can testify. They are all over my top tracks and are #16 on my top artists. The music is very catchy. Very good vocals, the lyrics are totally awesome, just all around catchy songs with awesome programming. They use the electronics to create a sound different from any other artist but hauntingly familiar. Right up my alley.
Every time I think about taking it out of my CD player I am like "no i will leave it in for a little longer, so I can drive to school singing "You are the most beautiful girl I have ever seen", "Milli Vanilli is a fake, it is more then you can take". "Stop talking of who's to blame, when all that counts is change" or any of the other catchy phrases.
My favorite track on the CD has to be "Dice Roller". The lyrics on that
track are astounding. The beginning really gets to me:
"You are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen.
When I think back on my teens I wonder where you could have been.
All of the time. All of the time."
So sad it took me so long to buy the CD. Check out their website for clips and downloadable movies.
