Ben Folds rocks Boston

Tonight Ben Folds along with Ben Lee and Rufus Wainwright played at the Bank of America Pavilion.

Ben Lee played a short approximately 30 minute set. I had never heard Ben's music before so it was a welcome introduction. I will need to go pick up one of his CDs soon.

Then onto the main act of the night. Ben Folds played his usual rocking set. A good hour of pure Ben Folds goodness. Ben had a band with him which allowed for some interesting antics. Including throwing his seat at the piano at the end of song. With help from Dr. Dre and Snopp Dog, Ben performed his slow version of "Bitches Ain't Shit." It made my night that Ben played this song. To see 3 white men singing a pure rap song was totally amazing. He didn't play either The Luckiest or Gracie two of my current favorite songs, but he was battling a cold. Still it was an hour of some of the most best piano pounding rockin' tunes ever to hit Boston.

Rufus put on a good followup performance, though I only know a handful of his songs off of "Want One" so it was hard to follow a bit of the concert.

If the "Odd Men Out" tour is visiting your area make sure to give it a visit.
