Late on a Sunday night

A few minutes with me... Tonight after a day lazily spent hacking I now have a wordpress theme based on the OSWD theme done by Andreas Viklund. This theme is also on my main home page on panaverse.com That site is also served up by a nice cute PHP script which loads a page based on the variable passed into it. So my homepage is index.php/Main and index.php/\<lots of stuff> work also. Makes it very easy to have a single page to control all of the layout and just have plain text files sitting in ...

Ben Folds rocks Boston

Tonight Ben Folds along with Ben Lee and Rufus Wainwright played at the Bank of America Pavilion.

Ben Lee played a short approximately 30 minute set. I had never heard Ben's music before so it was a welcome introduction. I will need to go pick up one of his CDs soon.

Then onto the main act of the night. Ben Folds played his usual rocking set. A good hour of pure Ben Folds goodness. Ben had a band with him which allowed for some interesting antics. Including throwing his seat at the piano at the end of song. With ...

DeSol played a free concert at Copley square this past Thursday.

First time ever seeing them live and it was my first time hearing their music. They are an interesting band with a nice spanish/english mix. I picked up their CD which so far sounds really good.

A Saturday afternoon spent playing Risk on the Boston Common. It was such a nice day I was glad to be outside. Even if I did get my butt handed to me in a Risk game. I just got a poor random placement of countries and couldn't recover.

Freezepop @ TT's

Freezepop played at TT's tonight. Along with Freezepop came trs-80, fashion flesh, and livesexact. Very good fun and the pre-freezepop bands put on a good show.

First time ever seeing freezepop in a real music setting. Instead of a free show in the middle of a day. It makes quite a difference in the experience. Audience members played the PS2 game Amplitude to the song "Super-Sprøde." The first attempt failed pretty quickly though the second person finished the level and everyone was happy.

Freezepop has an awesome stage presence and a the video screen helps to make people ...

t-shirts and fun

Threadless is way to addicting. Since them having their sale last month I have bought another 5 tshirts. The designs are way awesome and are voted on by members.

Finally have the money to buy a boltz media rack. I have been looking for this for quite a while. Should make it alot easier to find my music and get everything out of the boxes that currently stores all my books/cds/dvds. I also ordered a quartz bookcase from crate&barrel.

I am looking at how one would create a gmail notifier using its atom stream and how best ...

Work is getting interesting

Right before I started working at IBM my team lead started the process to get his blog component for Workplace out the door. I have taken the code he initially built and am building a more robust version of it that we will eventually ship in or on Workplace 2.6. This will be released later this year.

That isn't the most interesting part though. Yesterday a version of the component was published on Alphaworks as a Technology preview for Workplace 2.5. Since non of my contributions are in that version I am not mentioned on the page ...

4th of July in Boston. We sure know how to put on a show. My aunt and uncle were impressed with the fireworks and the crowds.

We were able to sneak VIP seating into the Boston Pops 3rd of July concert, by waiting until all the VIPers had been seated and then getting seats right behind them.

Joel, Tim and I tried to go ...

Wilco in Boston

Tonight Wilco played at Agganis Arena on the BU campus. It was my first time heading over to BU from my apartment in Arlington. I managed to get over there in only 50 minutes which wasn't that bad at all.

Wilco totally rocks live. If you think their CDs are awesome you really have to see them live. slow, fast, hard, rock, harmonica all occur at different times along with Jeff Tweedys signature vocal style. Wilco played mostly songs I know which is everything but the "A.M." album. There were a few songs I didn't know.

"There ...

Cars...

[![Mass Ave](http://photos4.flickr.com/9684513_151f2bd96e_m.jpg)](http://www.flickr.com/photos/spi/9684513/ "Mass Ave")

Today I almost joined Tim in having my car out of commission due to an accident. My apartment is right on Mass Ave. The road is fairly busy especially at 7:30 in the morning. I pulled up and looked both ways and didn't see any vehicles. Then I looked right again and saw a truck so I waited for it to pass and pulled out into the road. I totally forgot to look left and by that time a car had ...
